WELCOME TO MOCL 2009
HOMEPAGE
News and Updates (10/6/09)
Greetings all:
First of all, I would like thank and congratulate all the teams
for their enthusiastic participation to MOCL. You all make the
league. We are very fortunate you have each other to enjoy and
cherish the game we all love. It is pleasure to play with and
against such a dedicated group of people. All the teams held
themselves to a high standard of sportsmanship and commitment to
the game and the league. I would hope we can continue this very
special and enjoyable activity.
Congratulations to CCC for not only winning the MOCL but also on
having an unprecedented 2009 season by winning MCT as well. The
results are reflection of your hard work and dedication to
cricket. It was a pleasure to see some of the best individual
and team performances you guys put on field.
Congratulations also to GDCC for overcoming all the obstacles
and hurdles to reach the final. The outcome of the final is not
reflective of the efforts you all have been and are capable of
putting in. A couple of things here and there could completely
change the outcome of the final. You deserve all the credit.
Also, congratulations to UKCC for winning Div II and to Cinci CC
for making to the final. We apologize for being unable to be
present at your game. We sure did miss some wonderful and
entertaining performances.
Very special thanks to everyone who participated in umpiring.
Neutral umpiring is the corner stone and backbone of MOCL. You
all made sure that all the games are run professionally, fairly,
and with higher standards. Without you all, the MOCL's existence
would be meaningless. I truly am in debt to your work. I would
specially thank Mr. Merv Alphonso and Mr. Ajit Kapadia. MOCL is
privileged to have gentlemen like you who are dedicated to
cricket. I am sure we all can learn a lot from your commitment,
dedication, and principles.
And then there is group of crazy, tireless, and extremely
dedicated people without which, it would have been impossible to
have such a great league.
Shahzad: Thanks for single handedly running such a great website
which contained all the scorecards and updates very promptly.
Hammad: For taking all the headache and criticism related to
daily and weekly running of MOCL. Your sacrifice of sleeps at
nights because you simply would refuse not to have communication
with anyone related to MOCL situations.
Mathew Bhai: You ran the Neutral umpiring in such an organized
way, that it seemed like finding and arranging a NU is no
problem at all. I know from my own experience how hard your job
was. You gave MOCL the face. Your time, commitment and
dedication is very highly appreciated.
Naveed: Your handling of MOCL financial issues is so wonderful
and professional that I would recommend you the finance minister
for Pakistan or USA. The transparent process and the prompt
reimbursements really was like a blood supply to the MOCL body.
I also appreciate you sharing your experiences to run MOCL very
professionally.
Bharat: Thanks for your help in formulating rules and help in
scheduling. Your time and commitment to MOCL and MCT; and hence
to Cricket in Midwest, speaks volumes.
I am also very thankful to GDCC for making arrangements to have
such a great Final. I haven't seen such arrangements in any
final in Midwest. MOCL is in debt to you. You have set such a
standard that it will be hard act to follow.
In closing, I would thank everyone for inputs and suggestions.
We all learned a lot from our experience and I am sure we all
have many suggestions to improve on things which need attention.
In the off-season, I would like everyone to keep thinking of
improvements we can make in the league to make it better. I
would suggest we all take a couple of months off and then, maybe
in Dec. or Jan. start planning toward 2010 season. The core (Hammad,
Mathew, Naveed, Bharat, and Shahzad; everyone with families and
kids) did a wonderful job by spending hours working for MOCL. It
is time for others to step up the plate. We need fresh and young
blood with innovative ideas and unprecedented enthusiasm.
Volunteers are welcome in all fields to make MOCL 2010 even
better than 2009. Enjoy the off-season and continue the dialogue
for ideas for MOCL 2010.
